8 Day Fluid Power Course

APT’s 8 day Fluid Power course equips participants with the know-how to work safely and productively with hydraulic and pneumatic machinery.

The course provides investment leverage for Employers enabling:

> maximum safety awareness to reduce risk and maintain compliance
> minimum equipment down time to improve plant productivity

Participants will benefit from industry’s best practice training, improved and accelerated knowledge transfer and improved employment scope.

The APT 8 day course targets Mechanical Trades persons who are familiar with Fluid Power Systems and are motivated to extend their knowledge and qualifications as well as receive recognition of their current skills.

Nationally Recognised 8 Day Fluid Power Course

Upon successful completion students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the 4 Units of Competency which form part of MEM40119 – Certificate IV Engineering (Fluid Power) being:

  • MEM18018 – Maintain pneumatic system components (Previously Pneumatics 1)
  • MEM18019 – Maintain pneumatic systems (Previously Pneumatics 2)
  • MEM18020 – Maintain hydraulic system components (Previously Hydraulics 1)
  • MEM18021 – Maintain hydraulic systems (Previously Hydraulics 2)

Participant Pre-requisites

It is preferred that participants have completed 1st and 2nd year of a mechanical apprenticeship, MEM30205 / MEM30119 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, and have obtained the following UOC's:

  • MEM09002 Interpret technical drawing
  • MEM12023 Perform engineering measurements
  • MEM18001 Use hand tools
  • MEM18002 Use power tools/hand held operations
  • MEM18003 Use tools for precision work
  • MEM18006 Repair and fit engineering components
  • MEM18055 Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components
